OF WARRANTIED PRODUCTION
SMARTEST WAY TO
GENERATE ELECTRICITY
Homeowners are incentivized to sell excess solar power to the grid. Homes that meet criteria can get solar installed for no money out of pocket. Monthly savings are typically greater than monthly solar payments. Overall electric bill becomes fixed and protected from rate increases.

APPLYING FOR NET METERING
Excess solar generation is redirected through Alliant's grid to power neighboring homes. Homeowners can benefit from energy credits that reduce their bill even when the sun isn't shining. After Site Audit, project application is reviewed by Alliant to make a final approval.

Because the cost of solar is essentially a one time construction project with little to no maintenance, the upfront and long term costs are predictable. A solar system can provide enough energy savings to cover it's own monthly payments and then some. The difference is as Alliant rates increase with inflation, homes with solar are protected.
When your home meets certain criteria, you can actually start the process and get fully installed without paying a cent. After your system goes into service you simply pay a fixed monthly solar bill that replaces your Alliant Bill. The solar payment stays fixed even though Alliant rates are subject to increase for everyone else.
During daylight hours your solar system produces enough power to cover day and night time consumption. Excess power that's not immediately utilized is sent out to the grid. Alliant credits that energy on your account equally 1 for 1. At the end of the month, energy credits pay down your account for the power drawn from the grid during times solar isn't producing.
For most homes, using the roof is ideal. It's available space with the best vantage point for sunlight year round. It saves on building costs and reduces roof weathering long term. Homeowners can feel confident that their roof is warrantied upon approval.
If ground mounts are preferred, there are additional construction costs and there must be ground level clearance of obstructions.
Based on project type we'll make recommendations to work with local installers that have a track record of reliably servicing homeowners in the state of Iowa. Our energy experts would first provide you with program details and an in-depth analysis for how solar would work for the home. If everything makes sense, they'll help you with submitting your approval application.

Design and Approval Process
We help going solar simple and hassle free. Once the project is submitted we work to get Alliant approval and permits to install.
We first break down your energy consumption to know how big your solar system needs to be
We generate a design that optimizes production and savings
We submit an application for solar funding and approval. An assessment is scheduled to inspect the home's roof and electrical.
After receiving Alliant's approval, the solar system is installed and turned on. Now you're replacing your electric bill with a fixed solar payment.

WHAT HOMEOWNERS ARE SAYING
Ralph Taylor
Washington, Iowa
In the past I put off going solar because I thought there was a large upfront investment. We ended up getting solar on our home because we didn't have to start paying until the system was already saving us money more money that it cost to run each month.
Gene Porter
Burlington, Iowa
After going solar, I stopped seeing my summer higher bills. Now I enjoy seeing the same bill each month knowing
